Rates
• It is not possible to give a firm estimate without seeing the work. It generally takes about an hour to edit 3-4 pages of a technical paper. A more general basic edit requires about an hour’s work for every 6-10 pages.
• The charge to check (and correct) reference formatting is $1/reference.
• After seeing an example of the work, I am happy to provide a rough estimate.
• Add a 25% surcharge for rush jobs.
How it works:
It is best to start with a short email. Once the basics are reviewed, you can send the file for editing. Typically, editing is performed in Word, with track changes on so that the author can see what was changed. Questions are noted in the file and listed in a separate “questions” file. Hard copy editing is available upon request.
Turnaround for a short project is generally less than a day or two.
The schedule for larger projects is worked out with the author.
Writing Samples and references available on request.
